C.R.A.V.E.
The "Camp Returning Alumni Volunteer Experience" (or C.R.A.V.E.) program gives staff alumni and friends the opportunity to reconnect and serve at camp again! Throughout the summer, CRAVEs can help out with various aspects of our program, all while experiencing the joy of Hastings.
CRAVEs also take part in the popular tradition of being the primary volunteer group for our Sr. Youth Camp, the final week of our summer program. With our usual volunteers (the SITs) being the campers, we depend on old friends to come be leaders with us Hastings once more!

Eligibility Requirements
Volunteers must:

Have previously served as a summer staff member, SIT, or other volunteer

Be in good standing with HLBC

Be approved by the Executive Director, Program Director, and Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteers must provide:

A completed and current* Criminal Record Check (including the Vulnerable Sector Check)

A completed and current* Child Welfare Intervention Check
*Current: within six months of start date
Eligibility Preferences:
HLBC are seeking volunteers who have the ability to devote a full week to camp*, Sunday to Friday. In the case of
Family 3-for-3, the week runs Tuesday to Friday. All camp weeks include overnight stays.
*We understand that life and work schedules may not allow this, so we are open to working with you to have an alternate schedule within reason.
Duties may include:
● Assisting in the daily operation of camp programs (Chapel, Quest, Wide Games, Options, etc.)
● Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and buildings during the week
● Supervising and assisting in the completion of Service Projects
● Assisting in the kitchen, office and with maintenance duties
