S.I.T.  Program

The Servants In Training (SIT) program at Hastings Lake Bible Camp gives an opportunity for high school students to serve at Hastings for a few weeks each summer, getting a taste of what it is like to work in Camp Ministry. We focus on growth in faith, leadership, and friendship. As Servants In Training, we seek to follow Jesus’ example as we serve Him at camp:

"But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:26-28

High school students who have completed grade 9 may register to be SITs.

Registrations are due May 20.

All SITs must attend the training weekend on May 31 - June 2, 2024.

All registrants will be accepted to the program. First time SITs will only be used 1-2 weeks of the summer based on staffing needs each week.

For questions, contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Abby, at

During this weekend SITs will:

  • Get to know each other and the camp leadership staff

  • Learn what it means to be a SIT and what your role is

  • Learn how to help lead a Bible Study

  • Learn games and time filler activities

  • Learn what to do in emergency situations

  • Learn all about HLBC's policies and procedures

  • Enjoy evening camp fires

  • Play goofy games and icebreakers

This weekend is mandatory for everyone who has applied for the SIT program.

"I love being a SIT at Hastings because it allows me to share my passion of Christ with others. Being in an environment that is filled with love and acceptance is the most beautiful thing I have experienced in my walk with Jesus.

The Hastings Lake community can only be described as a Christ-centered family that is ready to devote their time to your faith. I wanted to be a part of that, so I became a SIT."

Registration deadline is May 20
