Campsites were generously decorated by some of our wonderful supporters:
Site #1 - A Staffy Brown Christmas
by Lauren W, Katie, Reid, and James
This Charlie Brown themed display was made by some of our awesome summer staff!
Site #3 - Nativity Scene #1
by the Osness and Schell Families
Site #4 - A Scandinavian Christmas
by the Lefse House
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” is written in Norwegian on a framed plaque hanging in Ole and Lena’s home. Under the tree is the best gift of all – the baby Jesus. To welcome strangers in the night, candles have been placed in the window. Lena is rolling lefse; Ole is busy flipping the lefse and soaking lutefisk in lye. Coffee is always on and when the cream is separated, there will be rommegrot.
Site #5 - Christmas Canoe
by the Halvorson D-group and the McKibbon D-Group
This site was decorated by students from CLBI, a Bible School in Camrose, where learning about God sometimes looks like a classroom, and sometimes looks like a back-country canoe trip.
Site #6 - A Nostalgic Nativity Scene
by Len & Marlys Sorenson
This Nativity display was built in the early 1960’s by my (Marlys) dad, Pastor Milton Rude. Dad set this up at every home they lived at. It is a privilege to share it with you, we pray you are blessed by the reminder of the real reason we celebrate, that God sent His son as a baby to be our Saviour.
Site #7 - Gingerbread House
by Sharnelle Umphrey, Stefani & Joel Litwin
Site #8 - Snowman Party
by Shane & Ally Johnson
Site #9 - Nativity Scene #3
by the Semmens Family
Site #10 - Holiday Traffic
by the Stoyko Family
Site #11 - Christmas at the Beach
by the SITs
The SITs are part of the leadership program at Hastings, which gives an opportunity for high school students to volunteer for a few weeks each summer, building faith, leadership skills, and friendships.
Site #12 - Narnia
by the Thompson Family
A scene from C. S. Lewis’ book “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” showing the wardrobe, the lamp post, and the White Witch arriving in her sleigh.
Site #13 - Country Christmas
By the Skrivers and Gjesdals
Site #14 - Little White Church
by Sharon Lutheran Church in Irma
Site #15 - Nativity Scene #4
